Terms of service

Last updated 13 October 2026

These terms govern the Torque website at torque.crypti.co.za and the Torque service at app.torque.crypti.co.za, provided by Crypti (Pty) Ltd, registration number 2023/626567/07, of 281 Chopin Avenue, Centurion, 0157, South Africa (“Crypti”, “we”, “us”). Torque is currently in private development; access is by waitlist and invitation.

Please read clauses 6, 7, 12, 13 and 14 carefully. They limit our liability, exclude some warranties and place certain risks on you, including the risk of relying on AI output.

1. Acceptance

By joining the waitlist, creating an account, or using Torque, you accept these terms and our privacy policy. If you act for an organisation, you confirm you have authority to bind it, and “you” includes that organisation.

2. Eligibility and accounts

You may use Torque as an individual or on behalf of an organisation. You must be at least 18 and able to enter a binding contract. Keep your sign-in details secret and tell us at once if you believe an account has been compromised. You are responsible for what happens under your account until you do.

3. Organisations and roles

Torque organises work into organisations with fixed roles (owner, admin, member, viewer) and project-level overrides. The owners of an organisation control its members, settings, connected Git hosts and data. We act on instructions from people in those roles and are not responsible for disputes between members of an organisation.

4. Acceptable use

You must not:

  • use Torque to break the law, infringe anyone’s rights, or distribute malware;
  • connect repositories or Git host accounts you are not entitled to connect;
  • probe, scan or test the security of Torque without written permission, or interfere with other customers;
  • use agents run through Torque to generate content that is unlawful or that you have no right to use;
  • resell or sublicense Torque without our written agreement.

5. Your content and code

You own your repositories, tickets, configuration (skills, hooks, CLAUDE.md and AGENTS.md files), agent output and documents (“customer content”). You grant us a non-exclusive licence to host, copy, process and transmit customer content only as needed to provide and secure the service and to follow your instructions. We do not use customer content to train machine-learning models. You are responsible for having the rights to the content and credentials you connect.

6. Third-party services

Torque connects to GitHub, GitLab and AI model providers (such as Anthropic and OpenAI) under your own accounts, subscriptions or API keys. Their terms and pricing apply to that use. We are not responsible for their availability, changes or charges. Keys you store in Torque are encrypted; you remain responsible for rotating them and for the limits on their use.

Coding and review agents always run on your own Claude (Anthropic) or Codex (OpenAI) subscription or API key. We do not supply, pay for, resell or proxy model access. You are responsible for complying with those providers’ terms and usage policies, including any limits on using a subscription with third-party tools, and for the charges they make.

7. AI output

Coding agents and review agents produce output automatically from models we do not control. Output can be wrong, incomplete, insecure or infringing. You must review output before relying on it, merging it, or shipping it. We make no promise about the accuracy, quality, originality or fitness of any output, and you bear the risk of using it.

8. Waitlist and beta status

Joining the waitlist does not create a right to access. During the beta we may change, limit, suspend or withdraw features, reset data, or close the beta at any time, with as much notice as we reasonably can give. Beta features are provided for evaluation.

9. Availability and support

We aim to keep Torque available, but we do not promise uninterrupted or error-free service, and we may take it down for maintenance. Support during the beta is by email on a reasonable-efforts basis.

10. Suspension and termination

You may stop using Torque and delete your organisation at any time. We may suspend or end access if you breach these terms, if required by law, or if continuing would create a security or legal risk, and we will tell you why unless the law prevents it. When an organisation is deleted, we delete its customer content 14 days later, and it leaves our backups within 6 months, except what we must keep by law.

11. Fees

There are no fees during the waitlist and beta. We will publish paid plans before charging anything, and existing users will get at least 30 days’ notice before any fee applies to them. Fees for third-party services under your own accounts remain yours.

12. Warranties

Torque is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we exclude all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. If you use Torque as a consumer under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008, nothing in these terms limits the rights that Act gives you, and clauses 12, 13 and 14 apply only to the extent that Act allows.

13. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, consequential or special loss, loss of profit, revenue, data or goodwill, or for loss arising from AI output, third-party services or your content. Our total liability for all claims in any 12-month period is limited to the fees you paid us in that period, or ZAR 1,000 if you paid none. Nothing excludes liability for fraud, gross negligence, or anything that cannot be excluded under South African law.

14. Indemnity

You indemnify us against claims, losses and costs arising from your content, your use of third-party services through Torque, or your breach of these terms, except to the extent we caused them.

15. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. The courts of South Africa have jurisdiction, and you consent to the jurisdiction of the High Court of South Africa, Gauteng Division, for any dispute. Before starting proceedings, both of us agree to try to resolve a dispute by discussion in good faith for 30 days.

16. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We will change the “Last updated” date and, for material changes, email account holders at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use after that date is acceptance of the new terms.

17. General

These terms and the privacy policy are the whole agreement between us for Torque. If a clause is unenforceable, the rest stands. We may assign these terms to a successor of the business; you may not assign them without our consent. Notices to us go to [email protected]; notices to you go to the email on your account. The Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002 applies to electronic notices and acceptance.
